NewWest Feeds, is currently taking applications for a Animal Nutritionist to join our team.
Animal Nutritionist would serve in Alberta complimenting our sales department
Salary; $75, 000 Yearly for 40 hours per week . Permanent/full time position.
Responsibilities include:
• Develop an understanding of existing formulations and ingredients;
• Formulate feed according to nutrient specifications;
• Develop new products;
• Produce feed product labels ;
• Identify the need for veterinary prescriptions;
• Assist in the areas of product pricing and margining;
• Responsible for ration balancing and support of on farm mixing formulation;
• Develop relationships with mill, sales and service representatives and;
• Support sales efforts and customer support as required, farm visit (traveling, long days, overnight trips) Relocation within Alberta will be required;
• Work in a disciplined fashion and manage timelines with multiple priorities;
• Support the Formulation/HACCP/QC teams in areas such as tags, regulatory issues/registrations and Quality Control/Assurance programs.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Animal Sciences or related discipline.
• Minimum of 2 years feed formulation for multi animal species and strong understanding of feed technology ;
• Previous experience using formulation software ;
• Ability to quickly prioritize individual responsibilities and effectively manage time;
• Analytical skills with attention to details;
• Proven ability in accurate and cost effective decision making;
• Proven ability to multi-task in a fast pace environment;
• Knowledge of livestock production , nutritional and physiological requirements ;
• Excellent oral and written communications skills;
• Proven ability in working within team and in a team environment with other departments.
